Break and Grades

Hopefully you have been getting a steady stream of graded papers home. Unfortunately I find a lot of those papers in desks and in our trash can. We are inputting a few test tomorrow before break, and they will have those to take home tomorrow. Of course they can make correction if they would like to. Our 9 weeks actually doesn't end until the end of the first week we get back. Some students have some assignments they know that they owe me, but at this point I am going to go ahead and change what I have and make sure grades are up to date- reflecting what you've seen come home. But if you have any questions feel free to email me! Please have fun and read!! Your student as per usual owes me 50 minutes of IXL this week and 50 Minutes next week- They will have until Monday Jan 8th- They can do any standards having to do with 5th grade and above Fractions. I hope you have a fabulous break!! Enjoy and Relax! 5th grade really kicks up into high gear starting in Jan and is full spe

Holiday Party!

Our Holiday Party! On Wednesday December 20 th we will be having our holiday party. The kids can wear their pajamas and bring in a treat to share with the class OR a board game to play during the day if they would like. We will also be playing white elephant. Please send in something from home  that you don’t want any more or something from the dollar store wrapped up for our game together. Please don’t stress over this- something small from home or the dollar store is perfect for the game! Happy Holidays!

11/28-12/1

Welcome Back! I hope that you and your students had a fabulous break! Hopefully you have already had a chance to look over the progress report that I sent home. I did ask the students to get their makeup work turned into me by Tuesday of this week so I could grade it and fix their grades. We do have our 5th grade performance on Thursday at 6:30. We are asking that you are there by 6:00 to have a meeting about Rock Eagle and for the kids to get set up for the performance. Can't wait to see you all there!

10/30-11/3

Thank you all for coming to conferences! I really enjoyed getting to meet you all! Last week we ended the week with 4H. We had some great presentations by a few of our students and got to do some cool experiments with matter. This week is of course Halloween. Per county policy we are allowed 1 party per school year, so we will not be having a party for Halloween. However, if you would like to send in a treat to share the kids and I can take a few minutes of our recess to enjoy those treats together. We will also have our school reading night! Come Snuggle up witty a good book in your PJs and have some fun playing reading games, listening to some fall books, and participating in a fun reader’s theatre with Mr. Shalin! Students will get a homework pass for coming and a chance to build great memories at school. Rock Eagle flyers came home last week. The cost of the trip is $153.00. Please make sure you are participating in our Butterbraids Fundariser. Selling Butterbraids will make our co

Can’t wait to see you all for conference week! Thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy schedules to come and speak with me about your student! Please remember that we are on early release schedule this week so our dismissal time will start at 12:15!
10/11 Hi Parents! This week is flying by! I hope that you had a fantastic time at the fall festival this year! It was a great turn out, and I saw a lot of you there walking around with your students. Your kids all had your eye on me because they wanted to pie me in the face like last year... alas we did not do pies in the face this year, so that was a relief! Ha! Some things to keep in mind: Tomorrow is conference week so the students will be dismissed 2 hours earlier than usual. We also have early release all of next week for our Conference Week. Thank you to those of you that have already sent in your conference forms. If you have not sent in your conference forms please send them with the student tomorrow- if the time does work please give me and idea of a time and a date that do work for you so that I can put you in that part of the schedule. ( I will confirm with you that, that time does or doesn't work so that you know whether I have seen the conference paper again. Rea

2nd Week Here We Come!!! Please remember that our Open House is this week on Tuesday Night. We will be starting at 6:00 and will be about 2 hours long. Thanks so much in advance to those of you that are able to come out and get information about our school and classroom. We are continuing to work on routines, procedures, and classroom community. It is really important to me that your students feel safe and confident in my room. I really want this to be a space where kids want to be curious and learn together. In the next few weeks we will be starting to get into our 5th grade groove, but it will take us a little while to learn the little things that help us get there. WOW! I have the best students and room mom in the world! The kids knew that Sunday was my birthday and they did the sweetest thing! They all signed a birthday card for me and surprised me when we came in from recess with a birthday song and cupcakes. I feel so lucky to get to do this job. *I am currently working on getting my FAQ's and  pages for each subject up and live on my blog. They should be ready to go by later today.
